I had an 86' Cav Z-24. Not the convert of course, but my first REAL car that announced that I had detached fully from geekdom...a "chick magnet (so I thought).

All I can add to this is that you are here presumably because you own at least one MB. And the marque's strong suit is longevity.

Not so with GM. First three years of ownership from new is fine, but after that, it goes to a steep downhill...repairs and just plain cheap parts breaking everywhere. Before you know it, you have a vehicle with a million little odd problems, and you just want to unload the sucker to someone who is enamored by the...convertible top for instance, (yeah, that's it).
