It's going to be hard to sell biodiesel in the Austin area too. We where selling B99 for $3.22 and when we start selling b100 with out the tax cut it's going to be hard.

Diesel in Austin is going for $3.29. At least were a rendering company so we can collect the grease and turn it into biodiesel to keep the price down.

Wish us luck.

Hello Everyone

Ok, let me explain for our less gifted.....

( Its not just what is comming out of the tailpipe )

___________________________
Petrolium Diesel
___________________________
Petrolium diesel comes from materials that have been far under ground.
Trapped sources of Carbon.
Some have been under there for thousands of years.

We burn petro diesel and we are releasing tonns of NoX as a gas
into the air that used to be trapped in carbon in the ground.

We are releasing more NoX in one day than the planet can deal with,
and turn back into trapped carbon in a thousand or so days.

This cycle can take thousands of years to complete.
And we have burned what it took the earth thousands of years
to make, in a few hundred.
Thus increasing the amount of NoX

___________________________
Biological Diesel
___________________________

Plants that are growing right now on the surface of the earth,
Are harvested and smashed into oil.

That oil is used to make BioDiesel,
Is burned in your vehicle, releasing NoX into the air.

Then more plants are grown that take in CarbonDioxide and Nitrogen
and othere elements they need to grow

Thus returning the released NoX to the plant.

This cycle takes only a few months to complete.
And is pretty much a circle.
Leaving the amount of NoX that is free, relitivly the same.

_______________________________________________________

The Texas Commision on Envirnmental Quality says they are restricting the use of biodiesel because it puts more NoX into the environment .

They are either retarded and know nothing about the environment.
Or they are lying to us.

Or Both

Thank You
Have Fun !

Is that before or after it becomes photochemical smog?

Both cycles release smog.

One takes thousands of years to compete and has caused the picture you have posted, because we are relasing way more gasses than are being sequestered back into the cycle.

The other cycle takes a few months.
And is pretty much balanced.
And would not cause the picture you posted.

Thank You
RichC

In other words, BioD is bad because it releases higher amounts of NOx in many engines.

Im curious, is someone able to do their own test ,run a nox test on diesel ,then bio -d and post the findings here. How close is it?
Right now ,as I see it, we are paying for foreign oil way beyond are means .It will come back to haunt us in the near future.Right now OPEC makes enough money in 6 days to buy General Motors, in 6 years they have funds to buy 20% of all fortune 500 companies in the USA.Put that to whats going on right now in our economy ,the overseas investing in critical parts of our economy smells fishy. Not to say that the sky is falling ,just that our habits of having the freedom of cheap fuel is over and to cut out an alternative would be a competitors first move.Dominate the source .

No, BioD is good because it is from a quickly renewable source.
That does not throw off the balance of NoX.
And if the farming and harvesting of the plant material was done correctly
could even cause a negative carbon cycle.
Thus redusing the smog in that picture of yours dramitically.

And it was only one engine that TCEQ tested with.

Supprisingly it was one that was rarely used for testing.

And was allready known to have slightly increased amounts of NoX
under certin conditions.

++++++++++++++++++++

It has been proven that given the right farming techniques.
Use of SVO, WVO, and BioDiesel could cause a reduction in released carbon emissions.

That means you can drive your vehicle.
And have a negative carbon footprint.

+++++++++++++++++++++

But you can believe, and preach whatever you want.
That is your right.

Have Fun !

I thought I would give you guys an update on the situation. Somehow, Houston Biodiesel has found a way to sell B100 biodiesel for substantially less than the majority of ULSD despite the earlier speculation that B100 would rise to levels higher than ULSD and stay there due to the restrictions. As I look now, the cheapest ULSD in the Houston area is $4.219/gal (Dallas has a pump with $4.119/gal diesel, cheapest ULSD in TX), the next cheapest ULSD is $4.359/gal, and the most expensive ULSD in town is $4.909/gal (most expensive in TX is $4.979/gal in Bonham, TX). B100 can be bought at one local retailer for $4.19/gal cash, $4.25/gal credit, and $4.25/gal at Houston Biodiesel, both cash and credit. One place outside of town still sells B100 for $3.75/gal, cash and credit.

OK, you really know how to make a guy feel bad. I just paid $5.24 for B-99. Of course the cheapest D2 is $4.90 here.

Man, I don't even have a biodiesel place less than 30 miles away from me on the other side of the city.

I just filled up with B20 for $4.77. Dino is around $4.89. The pump shut off at $75 and my tank was still not all the way full.
