Biodiesel for the first time this weekend

Well I'm ready for my first batch of Biodiesel. I have changed serviced the car. Changed hoses to Viton to get it over with.

I did a diesel Purge also. I have about 8 inline filters and 2 spin ons ready.

I plan on running 20%Biodiesel for now.

Are there any additives I need to add to Biodiesel? For instance if I get a batch that hasn't been dried enough?

Also how high % of Biodiesel could I use safetly without worries?

Replace the pre-filter with a water separator. That should help in case it hasn't been de-watered enough.

Ive used quite a bit of B100 in my 79 300SD, 85 300D, and 78 300D. I never had any issues. $5 diesel is driving me to start using it in my 87 300D as well.

So the water separator goes where the inline filter goes?

Also does the water separator filter dirt like the inline?

Are you making your own biodiesel? buying homemade from a friend? or buying commercial? I use commercial B100 in all three of my cars, have never had a clogged filter or other problem. I do not use any special filters or de-watering equipment. I started with B20 and went to B100 after a couple of tanks in each car.

Hi Jeremy
How much are you paying for a gallon of Biodiesel?

Where in relation to the inline and spin-on does the water separator go? I have seen many different brands discussed on the boards if I did use one how can I choose what brand?
