KEY ON POWER SOURCE

I have 1979 240D that I will be converting on friday. Is the cigarette lighter the best place to get power from with the key on for my switch? Or should I get power from the fuse block in the enigine compartment, and if so which fuse.

Thanks in advance for all responses...

I used the cigarette lighter in my conversion. As long as it's just switch power and not powering any electrical heaters you'll be fine.
