my 617 runs 100% quieter on B100

i was running B20 for the past few months and today just filled the tank with B100... i forgot how much quieter the motor runs on 100% biodiesel!!

also for those in the bay area, i filled up for the first time at blue sky on 49th ave in oakland. right now B100 is $4.25 a gallon for fuel that is completely made locally

Main reason I buy the B100 for my Diesel fleet is to support the local guy. Price is a wash.

Better for my motor and its smell are both other benefits.

I've been running straight biodiesel since I bought my wagon (late February). I love the difference it makes. Much smoother. Price is currently $3.499 and I happen to work at the only place within 250 miles of Houston that sells it!

Chris sold the green machine about a month ago. It was for sale for a long time but he finally got a good price for it. But yeah he's still here! Just pawns off the dirty stuff on me

Ah he finally sold it eh? From memory it had a factory new longblock and what not.

I was one of the first with a 6.4 PSD to run it on B100 from his station, after I deleted that garbage DPF+DOC combination. Still no fuel system quirks. I did have a HPFP fail, but not due to the B100.

Whenever I am in town, all I run is B100 from there...unless winter, then I am on mixed.

You guys have the ability to drop ship filters and stuff still?

We get our filters locally from a distributor but we have REALLY good prices. Call Chris or email him. DesmoParts.com | Specialty metric screws for your motorcycle as well as Fuel, Lube, and Air filters for your car or truck. has all the info on prices for single filters or cases. That goes for everyone! Tell him Shawn sent you and get me into his favor =P.

Yea, SVO is quieter too. I have been told that this is due to a different flame front for these fuels compared to diesel, essentially it acts like timing is retarded a few degree's. This would explain why EGT's are higher for BioD/veg too.

Not saying really it matters, but this is what I was told by folks running tests in Europe on Skoda engines in a lab.

I usually try to keep around a 75% Bio/25% No 2 in the winter months. I had my SDL gel up a few years back.

nice - Ive been thinking of visiting the bioD place - I need a fillup today, maybe I'll drop by there. It maybe a little detour from my regular route home but - why not, would like to hear a more quieter E300D (its already very quiet)
