I just watched the video.
Holy Crap Man ! What a mess. You'll got about $30 worth of fuel. You ruined $30 worth of clothes. You will never get your car clean. If you have to change only one fuel filter you are way behind. If you are going to do it, do it right. Set up proper filtering equipment and learn how to blend fuel for your climate. What you have there is the poster child of what not to do to burn VO in a diesel. That is what gives VO use a bad name ( and leaves all the more available for the people who do it right).

That sounds like a bit of an extreme case.. Did you have really bad poly in your tank? If so a lot of solvents won't break it down but I hear turpentine does wonders! Might be worth a shot

I wish they had biodiesel in my area,as it would clean. But the rednecks around here, won't buy it because of fear.I'd have to drive 120 miles to tank up.

Do you have steel fuel lines? They could be coated inside.

i use dual 1/2 (0.5) micro filters in series and have a 60 plate heat exchanger in my car. Heats the oil up too much and it weeps out of the injection pump connections to the hardlines :/
so i run without the heat eachaner turned on and i have no issues what so ever with staring or running and get about 500-1500km out of a filter. temperature about 20-25 degrees Celcius |

I think the key is good quality oil to start with. and don't get oil from fish and chip shops, rather get some from a japanese or mexican place that change their oil frequently. |

Excellent luck with straight WVO, unconverted
IF you get good quality oil (not cooked to death, minimal meat fat), and you settle it and filter to one micron or better, it will work fine directly in the tank, no conversion needed.
I mix said well filtered decent quality oil with a cup or two of gasoline per 4.6 gallon cube, and only at ambient temperatures above 40 deg. F. Have logged about 100,000 miles using this method with few problems. After 30 K one of the vehicles (85 300D) got a little funky, sluggish, clouds of foul smoke. So i did a week long ring soak with Marvel mystery oil as per elsewhere on this forum, and she's flying down the road again. When you first start running this WVO/gasoline mix, some crud may come off the walls of the tank, resulting in repeatedly clogged primary filter for a few hundred miles. Maybe drain the tank, and after a few hundred more miles, the problem will clear up, and then you are in for thousands of trouble free, inexpensive, and ecologically preferable driving. |
