Complete body repaint?

Who here has done a complete body repaint in a color different than the original? Would you do it again? Was it worth the effort? What particular problems did you encounter by changing the color? Were you happy with the result?

If there is a thread about this already, I apologize. Apparently, Safari conflicts with the search engine on Peachparts and I could not search first.

I think you've seen my efforts haven't you? I am doing the same colour but it might as well be a different one considering how much sanding and priming I've done.

I think the biggest problem about changing the colour is that - well in my opinion - you'll have to strip out all of the interior bits to make sure you remove all traces of the old colour. Seeing the original colour inside the car wouldn't be good. But then I'm probably too fussy...

Am I happy with the result? I haven't finished yet so I can't say.

Is it worth the effort? Oh yes! I've learnt loads!

im thinking the same thing my 77 240d is dog poo brown. i hate it i want to paint it another color. i dont know if i want to do a proper job and stip the interior or just opt out and do an exterior job only.

obviously after a re spray, especially in a non factory color people will know its been repainted. my dilema is that i am a profectionist and i know seeing the different color inside will bug me.

how much work is it to stip the inside? just door panels and carpets, right? and i need to change carpets too.

I did another repaint. At first it looked good till paint peeled and show shinny paint underneath. I contacted painter and for free he would paint again.
However I sanded car down my self to original color, then took it back.
This time the paint stayed on good.

It's all in the prep, as they say.
