Can any member suggest a cheap ,easy to find,paint for the body panel that is made of plastic.The paint on the plastic plugs that seal the car jack insertion points keep flaking off.
I am thinking of Tremclad primer,but dont know whether it's good for plastic.the bottle says it's good for some plastic and all fibreglass.

Try vinyl paint. The Crappy Tire spray bombs seem to work well for me, but only buy the most expensive brand they carry at your local outlet. Bodyshop supplies stores carry this too. UAP has a good selection here. I've used their house brand and it is very good.
Preparaton is more important than the paint. Clean surface with a good solvent like Wash and Wipe (ask the body shop if they will pour you a small jar, it comes in gallon cans at over $40.00), or even laquer thinner will do (tends to remove some surface plastic too, though, so go easy).
The basic paint requirement is a flex-additive that allows the paint to move without flaking or cracking after it's cured.
If you're stuck for a color match, ask the paint supply guys to mix up a spray bomb for you. Be sure and tell them it's for plastic. This will be expensive, though, (typically, about $30.00 for a spray bomb) and you may need to search for a store that offers this service in your area .

Prep it well. Don's advice sounds great. Scuff it with a little sandpaper maybe.
