Factory CD changer can't read disks
Hello all:
Yesterday my CD player (factory Alpine trunk mounted CD player in my '95 E-320) stopped working. Though the disks are loaded properly, the display keeps reading "Loading". I have noticed over the last month or so brief audio dropouts every few minutes. Any ideas before I try to take it apart and check for loose wires and such? Thanks!

Your cd changer might be kicking the bucket and calling it quits. Just be thankful that it lasted this long. Mine (98 e320) stopped reading cds 6 months ago.
One thing i suggest you do before getting a new replacement is to take out the changer, open up the casing and try to clean the lens with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. Of course, if the lens looked very clean already, then the problem is most likely age-related. |
