I just replaced the rollers,some lights and belt on my Becker tape. Now the unit does not accept the tape. The tape loads in and the armature on the solenoid clicks in/out for 2-3 times and the tape just ejects out. What could be the probable issue. Any leads would be appreciated.

Chances are the cam gear is broken which is common for the age of the radio. The problem you will have is that it is VERY tricky to get it out and to change it. As part of repalcing the belt I had to remove the round gear near the solenoid. Now I see that the solenoid armature tries to engage 2-3 times and then the tape ejects. Were there any issues with the solenoid( ie weak pullin). I will look at the gear you are talking.
