Recently while working on my alarm, I began having problems with my stereo. Basically no sound is produced from any of the speakers, with the exception of the subs. At first I believed that I had a defective head unit again, since I had a very similar problem 2 years ago, and the new head unit solved that problem. But now after purchasing a new head unit and having it installed (70 usd) we found out the problem did not lie in the headunit, but was within the factory components. The problem occured when I was mounting parts in the passenger footwell as well as when I removed the lower center console with the window switches. I insisted that my car did not have a factory amplifier, because the ones I am aware of are located in the passenger footwell. But Circuit City told me it had to be the factory amplifier because even when a new speaker was plugged in, no sound was produced. What could be the possible cause for this problem, and I know for a fact that the 4 speakers in the cabin are not blown.
