w124 E500 + Mac Mini Car computer

I'm thinking about adding a Mac mini and 7 inch vga display into my E500.

I can put a bracket in the center vents that makes the screen easy to detach.

The Mac Mini has a 80 gig hard drive and would be capable of handling email- I'd also be interested in the speech recognition for doing word processing- nothing complicated while driving- mostly just simple follow up letters, checking e-mail (The mac will read it to you) etc. Perhaps I can run a navigation program as
well. 1.4 mghtz for the $599 model , fire wwire 400, bluetooth for the Treo 650 phone. Hell, with wifi in it...I might just be able to surf while parked in my car in a few residential areas.

Optimally- Palm One makes a small folding keyboard for the Treo 650 and if they have a bluetooth one...perhaps it will do double duty.

Anyone else embarking on this??The Mac Mini starts at $499

With a PalmOne Treo 650, the mini Mac would be redundant. The 650 is all you need, with the addition of the folding keyboard, a 1GB SD memory card and a bluetooth printer. There are already GPS systems for the 650 with voice directions and maps.

Can't play DVDs, but it does have video built in, and can playback downloaded videos and audio files with a software player like Kinoma.

Not afraid that the hard-drive will skip when driving?

When I saw the ridiculous size of the mac mini power supply...I abandoned the project. The powerbrick is almost 2/3 the size of the mini.
