W126 rear speaker grill problems

Today I finally got around to pulling my rear seat and rewiring the rear speaker cabling for my yet to arrive 6.5in Eclipse speakers.

I have already recabled the front when I put in the new black JVC sleath head unit and Pioneer front 4in speakers and ran speaker wiring for the rears down into the passenger compartment behind the kick panel so all that was left was to recable from the rear speakers forward.

I pulled the existing speakers which required pulling the speaker grills. These simply pull forward and up but the second grill snapped a little lug off an interference fitting despite coming off the same way as the first. On both grills the foam is collapsing completely.

What are the options here? I have the broken lug piece which might go back together with some glue and survive one insertion. The foam is captive between the plastic frame and the metal grill outer which is wrapped around the frame trapping the foam.

The foam is completely had it and I can't see a way of replacing it without removing the metal grill outer but I worry about damaging it or breaking the tabs off when removing it.

Are these available from the dealer? Is it worth retrimming the rear deck at the same time? One of my compartment lids catch is also broken, has anyone replaced these?

Cheers
Matt.

The po broke off a tab and used velcro to hold one on. Velcro seems ti wirk better then the tab's. My foam fell apart to I just left it off. I will price them out from the dealer eventually and replace them.

Mine fell apart also, sun damage on the plastic and foam. I was able to get a set from Silver Star recyclers a few years back. They couldn't match the color but the stereo installer had some "camel" vinyl dye that matches exactly. I left the foam off.
