Alpine Headunit with other brand cd changer?

I am about to get an Alpine head unit since it is highly recommended and I was impressed by my friend's unit.
In the future, when I get the guts, is it possible to install a non-Alpine cd changer to attach to the Alpine head unit... (the head unit has the controls built in,, just needs to be connected...)

Or do I have to get the Alpine cd changer...?

The reason I ask is because Alpine only has one cd changer and it is very expensive!

Alpine has more than one cd changer.

And you can generally only connect an alpine changer to an alpine radio.

as long as the alpine changer is the correct alpine bus, I think it is ai net or mbus, if the radio is ai-net, then any ai-net changer should work with the radio.

If it is M-bus, then only an alpine m-bus changer will work.
