Becker Locked Up??
OK, does this sound familiar?
1988 560 SL Becker Grand Prix The display is locked on an FM channel, no sound, buttons do nothing, display is still lit. Tape does go in and out. Appears to be locked up? I turn the car on and off, no efffect. I am about to pull the battery cable to try a reset but need to straighten out the code situation first. Any Advice?

Becker North America has an exchange policy for several models. I think it's $129.00. Send them yours and you'll get back the same model including the code. You'll have to go to their website. Don't bother with email (they don't reply). Call on the phone.
Or you can take out the radio and go to the dealer who might look it up for free if you have photo ID and registration for the car. Good luck. |

success!
FYI I talked to my Benz Dealer and he took the VIN and called back a bit later and said that if I needed a code, then I would have to pull the radio for the serial number. He thought on that year that the only way you would need a code is if the self destruct cable was pulled if you were not carefull when taking the radio out.
He is correct, I disconnected the battery, reconnected it radio is fine, no code needed. Still don't know what happened. Thanks for the help, looks like I dodged this one!
