No power to clock or radio
This is a 78 240D that I just installed an 82 engine and Im still working some bugs out. The clock works fine when the car is running which is ok if you dont mind re setting the clock every time you go somewhere, that could be resolved easy but the radio losses its pre-sets every time the cars shut off too. So my question is "where do the clock AND radio get their consent 12Vs?" I would like to avoid pulling the radio.

radio/internal light fuse keeps blowing
There is currently some short on the 300d. The radio/interior light fuse keeps blowing, which also takes out my radio. So I wired the the power connector (constant power) directly to the battery. The other power wire is still connected to the ignition. My radio works now and I still need to find out why my fuse keeps blowing.

Yah, I could do the same if I took out the radio to get to the constant voltage wire, I gota figure how to get to where that comes from if I can

Did MB even do that in '77? I remember my '77 P/U that had constant power to the cig ligher only. The radio circuit did not ,since the radio was the standard mechanical push button am/fm stereo. It was neat to watch the knob and dial move with the push buttons.

I wonder what would happen if I supplied 12Vs (directly from the battery) to the one 12V supply wire to the clock. Would that feed the radio? and what will happen when the car is started? (now juice is coming from two sources) I hate these kind of experiments that could involve smoke and flames
