A friend gavbe me a quick call with this problem. She has a CLK with stock head unit. She thinks she may have pushed the OnStar button, but now she has an "Audio Muted" message on her dash and no sound from the radio. She's tried turning the car on/off, re-depressing OnStar and anything else she can think of, but to no avail.

Any ideas on how to unmute the radio?

well i have no idea but if the car has a blue tooth connection for a phone than it could be that the system thinks its still in a call. give it some time your answer will come shortly.
