CD changer not recognized by radio

OE changer installed in 96' E320 not recognized by head unit. Radio indicates all 6 discs being loaded, then display shows NO DISC. Connector/wires look good, discs are installed in magazine correctly. Recoded radio in attempt to have radio recognize new arrival, still won't work. What's the problem?
