Hirschmn power antenna and aftermarket stereo, question? - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

I put an aftermarket stero into the 85 300D,I bypassed the fader , everything works but I cannot get the power antenna to go up. If I run direct power to it in the trunk is raises, and it will lower when I hook up the power plug, but wont raise with the power on or antenna switch. What do I have to wire into to make this feature work, or better yet what have I messed up

one of the wires on the aftermarket headunit is a antenna wire. this is to send power to the antenna to make it go up and down. Check out the wiring diagram from your stereo to see which one it is.

I suppose some headunits dont have this wire? My power antenna was working until I swapped radios, and the only wire I didnt use was a blue one labeled remote control. I didnt see any others that weren't spoken for.

yes the blue on is the one that you want to use. The remote control is for either the antenna or an addition amplifier.

well i hooked up the blue and it still does not work. At this point I have it raised half way and unlugged it , at least I have an antenna until I figure it out

I had this problem when putting the same in the 85SD - need to investigate in the trunk and give you the wire to connector combo. When Done you will have Antenna up when radio on and down when off (or ignition off) the aftermarket antennas do not have the little controller box like OEM that allows you to use the switch to control height.

That is really odd. that should have solved the problem. Are you sure you hooked it up to the right wire.

this original hirsshman worked fine with the europa, so I know it in the wiring, or I guess it is. I am goign to take it all out and start over
Could it be a ground , where?

I looked last night and could not find where to connect the blue wire.
