I'm new here, but figured that this would be the best place to ask my question.

I am trying to build a home stereo out of a car radio (like this one http://forums.finalgear.com/technology/question-how-do-i-turn-a-car-stereo-into-a-shelf-system-35340/page-2/#post977512). I was at my local pick-n-pull junk yard the other day, and they had a fresh delivered 1993 Mercedes 300E (no engine). I pulled the radio out of it, but noticed that it had a lot of unique connections (see picture).



Where would I be able to find a wiring diagram that would tell me which wire does what so I can provide the proper power/audio hookups. I checked www.the12volt.com, but the stereo has a lot more hook ups than just just black and white cables so it was no help.

I ended up not buying the unit, but for future reference, can anyone redirect me to a resource that would help.

I don't know of any diagrams online, but I do have access to several diagrams on AllData ... oddly when I went to look up 1993 300E, it said MB did not provide wiring diagrams for that year, to consult 92 or 94 diagrams. I do have those years, but several options were available in those cars. If you end up with a radio and need a diagram, let me know and I'll send you a screen shot of the diagram.
Most of the 80s and early 90s HUs were 2-channel, I believe, so they should be pretty simple.

I think the 1991-93 300E had a 2 piece system. Did you get the tuner out of the trunk?
