Hands free Law Jan 1 for me :(
I agree that driving while using a cellphone is VERY dangerous. I don't do it. I miss alot of calls while I'm driving, because I don't call while I'm driving.
As of January 1 2010, it will be ILLEGAL for me in my province to use a cellphone in my vehicle. Ok, great, makes things safer for me. I'll get to the point.. What bluetooth/handsfree set-ups are you all using, if you are using. I'm going to upgrade my head unit, and wouldn't mind doing everything at once, stereo, XM, Bluetooth and MP3 connectivity. Also I'll be using a Laptop in the car. any Recommendations?

Oh yeah, BTW, it'll be a $280 fine and 4 demerits (20% premium increase per demerit)
Second offense is 1 year suspension.

I have the Jawbone bluetooth headset. It works pretty well aslong as it stays in my ear.

Hands free
PanzerSD - if you're buying a head unit anyway then buy one with bluetooth built in. I just installed a new Kenwood, the KDC-BT838U in my 190. Does all the phone functions, plays a bluetooth MP3 player (or your phone's built in player) has USB and plays CDRW's with MP3's on them. Using the phone this way takes a little training but works well once you get it down. Another great option is the Motorola T505. It's a portable unit that goes from car to car and does all the handsfree phone stuff exceptionally well plus plays your phones music through FM modulation to the head unit. Motorola also make a hard wired unit for your head unit - if it has aux. inputs. I have all of these and they work very well. If you drive more than one car, the T505 is the way to go. Hope this helps, Andy

If it's only in the car you are concerned about, Andy's suggestion is better than the headset. I use mine all the time, though. The built in bluetooth in your stereo is great, because it automatically turns down the volume of the music.
