Antenna stays up and amps continue to run
I have an intermittent issue with the radio in my car 1991 420 SEL. The 1432 radio and rear receiver were missing when I got the car and was replaced with a 1480 Becker. The wiring was modified to bypass the rear receiver. Sometimes when I shut the car off the antenna stays up and the amps continue to run. Often turning the radio on and off will resolve the problem. lately it is getting harder to resolve and the radio sometimes will stop working and the only way to get it to work is to pull the #2 fuse and replace it. Recently I got in the car and the radio asked for the code. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Pulling the fuse probably cut power to the radio hence the need for the code. Do you have it? If not, it's available from the dealer but since the original radio was replaced they may need the serial number off the current radio to pull up the code from Becker. You might also contact Becker (phone is best) about changes to the wiring when substituting a different radio.

I actually have a program to figure out the code but the the code issue happened without me pulling the fuse.
