becker grand prix issues
so my head unit was having issues in the winter, they appeared to go away in the warmer weather, today was 95degrees,the interior was extremely hot,i hit on button to turn radio on,nothing happened,i hit on 1 more time, the radio turned on,then i heard a relay clicking under dash,it caused my head lights and tail light to flash,as if it set off the alarm,i hit power off,the radio turned off,but left a digital series of lines across the screeen, then would not power back up,i had to put key in central locking turn it left then right, this shut off the lights,in winter the radio had a mind of its own,it would turn on by itself then not turn off unless fuse 9 was pullled, any ideas as to whats my issue, does it sound like the head unit is defective?,thanks

I think if you remove the battery cable this will lock the radio, it is a security feature for loss prevention of the radio....call becker
http://www.beckerautosound.com/ or a dealer and they can help you set the code and remove the dashes from the led screen... |

Sounds like the internal battery in the head unit is going out...has about a 10-15 year life span.
