After hours of searching on the forum I am still confussed as to what the amp powers in my 1995 wagon. Here is the description of my situation:

-no sound at all in rear door speakers.
-sounds like only low end bass (thud) in front door speakers, but not very audible.
-distorted sound in dash speakers.

From what I have gathered so far, the amp in the back side wall powers the front door speakers. Is this correct? That would lead me to believe it is the head/deck unit that powers the dash and rear doors. In this case would it make sense to start with replacing the deck unit first? I thought I had read somewhere here that the front door speakers are for more bass then anything, which leads me to think that the amp might be okay.
