Becker 1492/1692 - DIY repair/mod info?

I have a dead 1492 & a dead 1692. Not interested in spending the $$$ to send them in for repair, but I'm guessing there are a handful of common issues that plague these units & that anyone who is handy w/ a soldering iron can probably sort them out. I've done some Google searching, plus searched here & on a few other MB forums w/ no luck. . .

Anyone have experience fixing these or modifying them for direct in?

Thanks!!!

Try contacting Becker? They may provide circuit maps, etc... Good luck, those head units are getting old!
