New Pioneer but no sound- 87 300TD

I've remove the Becker and followed a couple of the threads on installing the unit. I have bypassed the fader and brought up the two rear speaker wires from it up front

The HU powers up and shows stations, but NO sound at all is coming through the speakers. No staitic

I swear each speaker is wire correctly to the HU.

The front speakers were plugged in directly to the Becker, so that was easy. For the rears I used the ground from each rear speaker behind the HU and used the power wire for the rear speakers from the fader.

No sound front or back. No static, nothing!

The black is ground on the speaker wires right? I even reversed them but no sound

ANY SUGGESTIONS??

Does this car have a factory amp that may be messing things up? I thought it was just on the later years

Since I bought the car the original radio did not work. So I don't know where the problem lies.

I guess no one is around.

The results - I had power coming out of the head unit and to the speakers (tested with a wire straight from HU to speaker). HU was good.

There was some type of inline interference between the HU and facory wiring/speakers.

The blue/wht remote wire was hooked to power antenna and antenna worked when powered up.

Apparently there is no factory amp on this car (1987), but the sympotms still seem to point to one that's not powering up.

I ended up running new wires to each of the four speakers and it works GREAT! Thankfully I already had the door panels and Kick plates off (final assembly of interior), so it made it pretty easy.

Probably could have taken it to B*** Buy, but then I would have had to explain the mess of wires I had exposed and more $$$

Case temporarly closed- Still wondering why it didn't work?

My finger tips are now worn and tender from all the twisting and untwisting today. .... All splices shrink wrapped and wires tidy
