I understand that the CD Changer for this car is out of production. Is there an aftermarket unit that can be adapted to the stock head unit? (I read in another posting that an Alpine CHM-620 unit will work with all '91-'93 models, except the 190. Is there one that will work the the 190?) What about the possibility of finding a used original part? How do I find the part number?
If all of that fails, what would be the best replacement head unit to keep the original appearance of the stock unit. ------------------ Jack Elsner '93 190E '74 280C |

I'd seriously suggest ditching the old unit. If you get a changer for it, and your head dies, you'll have useless changer.
In terms of looks, Nakamichi make some deskc which look similar to the beckers. They do a really good *in dash* changer. Basically their headunit can stack 6 CDs in it thru a single slot. I cant remember how much it is, but I know its not much more than a headunit & changer combo. Bri ------------------ Brian Drought 1991 300CE http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~drought/ ICQ: 2180069 |
