What is the factory size speakers in the dash, front door and rear door? Anybody know the brands? Would like to switch them out but keep it simple, what does anyone recommend? I have read about the MBquarts anything else?

Focal! Should be 5.25 in fdoor and 4" in fdash. Also, 4" in hat shelf. I don;t know for sure but if you have speakers in the rear doors they are probably 5.25" as well.

Dash speakers and rear door speakers are both 4 inch; front door speakers are 6 1/2".

Boston Acoustics makes some fabulous speakers. I installed RC61 components in my 300TE, and installed BA CX-4s in the rear doors for fill. MBQuarts are nice, but unless you have the ability to really sculpt the sound (say, with some sort of EQ) they could end up sounding a bit harsh, especially in the mid to high frequency ranges.

Focal makes nice speakers, and if you want to spend some serious change then look at Dynaudio (but you'll need a good amount of power to drive them).

Good luck!

Yup, sizes are right.

What sort of money are you looking at? As Michael says, Boston & MBQuart are good, Focal & Dynaudio at the top end.

Of course, the better the speaker, the better the amp needs to be...

I wasn't even thinking! I was thinking 300E, so disregard my post... except for the Focal part.
