I'm thinking about getting rid of the radio in my '99CLK and relpaceing it with the in-dash radio/single CD player that I saw in the Mercedes accessories catelog. Is this a straightforward proceedure where the two radios use the same wiring harness or is this going to be something a trained technician has to do?

Steve:
Go to www.crutchfield.com -- they've got great products and excellent technical/customer support. Most stereo/CD players will come with a harness designed to retrofit right into your vehicle. Good luck. Brian |

One note you may need to keep in mind:
All 99 and on Mercedes wiring were switched to the D2B fiber optic busses which means that your radio is fiber optically connected to the amp, etc.(If I am not mistaken) You may need to get a converter in order to switch to a different head unit. |
