Anyone know if it's possible to install rear speakers in the side panels? I'm planning on installing a rear jump seat so the package shelf isn't an option.

Thanks

No problem putting rear speakers in the side panels. If you like e-mail me and I'll send you a picture of the rear speakers in my SL.

Did you ever install the side deck speakers and rear jump seat into your sl?

I have a pair of 6x9s in my rear deck, but want to install a jumpseat also. Hate to lose the sound from the rear speakers and was considering putting a pair of either 5.25" or 6.5" in the rear side panels.

Question

My 560SL has an Alpine CDA-7832 head unit, and Alpine 4" SPS-1025 coax 50W speakers in the stock front locations. No rear speakers (yet).

While my stereo is 35 watts per channel, the little Alpine 4" speakers don't do much of anything beyond 1/3 volume - with the exception of distortion.

If I want to add speakers to the back (I'd like to go with the side panels incase I ever do put in a jumpseat) is an amp a MUST?? OR does anyone think I can get decent sound from just a pair of 6" coax speakers?

Thanks!

So am I understanding that 6x9s can go in the rear shelf of my 83 380sl? A jumps eat will never be installed. And 4" will fit in the dash in the stock locations?
