W115 front speaker

Hi folks,

Finally getting around to upgrading the front speaker in my W115. I did a little research which seemed to conclude that the speaker I need for the front is a 4x10 item.

However, I just ordered a 4x10 speaker and it certainly doesn't fit..

Any suggestions?

Here's my current set up

Thanks!

Becker Autosound sells a replacement speaker, but it is spendy.

That's a lot for an old speaker! Although I guess it's to be expected.

I'm not bothered about keeping the speaker original - would just like some better sound from the stereo. Seems 4x10 options don't fit though. Anyone had any success with other aftermarket speakers?

Had a bit of a score on this. I found a cheap set of used Sony xs-v4642a speakers, which are 4x6. One fits perfectly and sounds freaking great! If anyone is looking for a recommendation for this then you probably wouldn't do much better
