Anyone ever swapped stock radios????
Hey guys,
Has anyone here ever attempted to put a different model MB radio in their car than what came from the factory? Specifically, as long as the connections and pyhsical size of the radio are the same is their any reason I couldn't replace the radio in my 95 s420 with a radio from say, a 1999 X Mercedes?? Newer radios are cheap on ebay and I am wanting to upgrade. Any thoughts? Thanks!!! |

Thanks...that was kinda what I figured. Did
you end up having to cut your wood console at all to fit it in? Does your stock CD player work with the new radio? By chance, do you know what part number your radio is? It looks like the CM1910 but I cant tell.
Thanks!!! |

You don't have to cut any wood. It slides right in and plugs right up. The stereo is out of a 2000 SLK. I think it is a CM1910. It's set up to control the fiber optic CD Changer you will have to update your CD-Changer if you have the old style.
