Getting thru front firewall 95 E320 W124 Cab?

I can get through to the trunk fine but need to get through the front firewall to hook up the amp to the battery -- any hints on getting through the front firewall? Where do existing cables go through, or should I punch a new hole?

Thanks!

There is a perfest grommet already awaiting more wires behind the battery under the plastic water shield right next to the hood's hinge. There are extra spots in the grommet to run your wires through all you do is cut off one of the rubber nipples and push your wire through and it will end up under your dash.

Thanks Scott!

I'll give it a try as soon as I get my car back from the brake shop (hope tomorrow).

Yup, got the seat out

Yup, I've been pulling all the wires from the trunk into the back seat and setting everything up in the trunk, I have the power cable in the main cabin but havent pushed it through to the battery yet. Will get to that point in the next day or two.

Darn this is tougher than I thought. Do I need to remove the wiper motor to get to this grommet? I just reread this message so will try clipping the nipple off and see if I can do it.

I hooked everything up for a dry run and it really kicked some serious butt. Can't wait for it to be all hooked up and finalized for a real "test drive".

No just take out the plastic water drip shield behind the battery and you will see it!

thanks!

Thanks Scott I finally got it through -- it was like birthing a 20 lb baby through, shall we say, a tiny hole. ;-)

Install is finished

Thanks for the help Scott. By the way sorry we didnt make it by when we were in La Jolla -- our baby (18 mos) got really sick when we were there (104.7F temp -- emergency room visit) -- turned out to be a stomach bug (ugh, lots of laundry that week!)... anyway I dove in and got all the stuff for the install myself, and it turned out great. The car is back together and everything is working and sounds sweet!

Yup he's fine

I'm sure your car sounds way better than ours, but I think it sounds pretty durn good. First time I've ever done a whole car (only have replaced speakers and head units before). This was rewiring from scratch!
