The 2 bolts under the first aid box are out alos. the cusion will hinge up, way up ( don't want to bend anyhting though) but it won't puch straight up or pull out. ANy ideas?
It is NOT a powered back seat. Thanks STEVE |

the saga continues
While i am waiting for a reply on the back seat I thought I would get the HU out and the interior covers off under the dash to run the wires!! NOT!!! I can't get the under dahs cover off of the drivers side>>> or would you recommend the passenger's side?
there is no FActory manual/CDROM fo rteh 140 chassis. I had one for the 126 chassis and it help alot with interior bits. I just dont want to pull to hard int eh worng direction to undo these clips. Steve |

I recently removed all of the original head unit and boot CD changer from my W140. The best way is to go in from the passenger side, you can pull down the pasenfer well carpet to get behind the entre consul very easy. To remove the other side of the footwell, i.e. the door pillar side remove the two screws which are hiddent in the pile of the carpet. You can then remove the front and back door sills just by puling then up. THE BACK SEAT. I found a removable strip between the side of the car and the seat its covered in fabric and about 2" wide. This will give you a clear cable route from the front of the car to the back, The cable for the factory fitted radio runs along this route!!
You may also find a interface unit under the metal plate under the front passenger foot well, this can be removed as well, if you have one. Cheers Grant |
