Unhappy 300 e radio

I put a cd changer in my 88 300 e about 2 years ago. It recently broke so I pull it out and re connected the antenna that is how it was connect though the becker radio. It worked for a day and know I only get dashes across the read out when I try to turn it on. Also the power ant does not work. I pulled out to see if all the wires were connected and they seemed to be. I also checked the fuse. Any Ideas ?
Thanks Mark

It sounds to me like the radio was disconnected from the battery. Do you think that the connector in the back of the radio may have come undone momentarily? I think the dashes mean that it's looking for the radio code to be input, which happens when the connection comes off.

When you purchased the car, you should have recieved a couple of credit card sized cards with it (maybe in the glove compartment) that have the radio code printed on them (4 digit) If the previous owner had any smarts and integrity. And also you should have an owners manual that tells you how to input the code.
