OEM Motorola phone info needed, please.

I have a '93 W124 that will soon be ready to sell, and it has the OEM MB/Motorola phone in the armrest. When you turn it on, it says "locked". Unfortunately, I didn't get any manuals, records, etc. with this car, and I know just exactly zero about the OEM cellphone system. What will it take to activate this phone, and/or what do I need to scrounge up in terms of information to get it done for a prospective customer?

Thanks a ton...

That phone MAY be analog. With the BMW 7 Series analog phones most carriers are unwilling or unable to provide the proper service.

Most people don't use these phones now days anyway because there are cell phones with hands free systems etc.
