Sadly, I too am have radio/CD/Tape troubles. It seems the most frequent complaint here is the failure of the unit to recognize the CD player. I get that only occasionally. But, if I had a tape left in the player when starting the car and the unit set to play tapes the tape would race and I'd hear Micky Mouse on Crack songs. I advised my service advisor when I took my '99 E320 for routine maintenance and they completely replaced the unit.
Then my troubles really began. The lighted
faceplate in the new unit did not illuminate and the unit would shut down after an hour regardless if the engine was running or not.
I once again advised my service advisor and return my car to the dealer. The advisor said they'd put the wrong model unit in my car and ordered a third unit. Now the third unit has come in and I've made my third visit to the dealer and waited in the waiting room for 2 hours only to learn that the third unit failed to correct the problems of the second unit. They gave me a loaner car "Honda Accord", (i'm stylin' now for sure)and on day two they inform me they are ordering more parts, have put six units in the car (where'd they get those?),will need to keep the car another day and are not sure the part is going to fix the problem :-(
Anyone with a similar experience or suggestion that can help them out, that Honda is killing me.
