190 dash speaker wiring question

'92 190e 2.6

On my stock Front Left dash speaker there are 2 speaker wire connections. One is wired to the round OEM speaker wire plug, the other to a rectangular connector that I assume carries the lead over to the right side, but they are wired to the 2 seperate sets of spades on the speaker. The right side dash speaker only has one set of spades and one set of speakers wires - easy...

My new speakers (Pioneers) have only one set of spades on each speaker in which to connect the speaker wire.

Am I ok to wire both set of wires that were seperated on my stock Left speaker to the one set of spades on my new speaker? Or do I run the chance of changing the impedance by wiring them this way?

Thanks,

toddro

The rectangular connection is only for the factory cell phone. It is a second voice coil that is not used unless there is a factory phone in the car.

Thanks Scott,

I was beginning to figure that out after re-tracing all the wire colors, but that confirms my suspicions!

Much appreciated!

Todd
