Anyone upgrade the alternator in their w210?

Anyone replace their alternator yet with a 143 or 150 amp unit from an S-Class?

I'm curious to if there where any complications involved.
I looked online at Importec.com and a 2001 S420? 143 amp is going for 179.99. I would be looking at either this one or the 150 unit.

The current unit in my '97 E300 is rated at about 90 amps is feels relatively weak. I know people will recommend adding a capacitor near my sub amp, but I've used them before and I feel a stronger alternator and good siz battery work better for a basic setup requiring a little more power than stock....

I believe that I would need to only install the pully off of my old alternator and the new alternator should line up in the same exact spot?

Thank Guys in Advance!

I replaced my alternator with a 143 AMP unit in my W201. I also know it lines up in the W124. I don't see any reason why the new alternator shouldn't line up in the same exact spot in your W210.
