Installing Sirius Satellite Radio: Need advice
Along with my cruise control amp swap, I'll be installing Sirius Satellite radio in my car on Saturday. I've already got the antenna mounted on the trunk lid (where the old mobile phone antenna resided) but was wondering if anyone on this board has suggestions for getting the antenna cable (it's a very thin cable) into the passenger compartment from the trunk. My eventual destination is the center console.
I'd imagine there must be some wires running that way from the old mobile phone installation but would ask if anyone here has details on how those things were hooked up. And while we're on the subject: anyone ever remove one of the old mobile phone "brains", the ones mounted in the trunk? I can't - for the life of me - figured out how that thing is attached to the trunk wall.

You don't say whay model car you drive, but you should be able to come trough trunk easy enough after removing back seat.
Should have gotten XM Radio, has twice the programming and far better sound quality. Only avantage for Sirius is NPR, if you call that an avantage. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Also have Sirius, love it. XM, not only lacking the 3 NPR stations, didn't have the Stanley Cup finals. But, really, they are both awesome systems that, particularly for those of us that are high-milers, really add a lot of enjoyment to the road trips.
I went thru the first aid kit, over to the door, and to the console and up. Kind of sloppy, but it works. If I used the back seat a lot it would be less than ideal. One thing I learned is how dang fragile the end of the antenna is, the plug. I broke one, fortunately it was soon enough after the purchase that the store took it back as defective. Before I started the next routing project, I taped the sucker up with duct tape. Left some of it on there. Also, if you don't have the cassette adapter, you might consider it. It adds to the loudness, and then you can turn off the FM transmitter part, and that makes it operate cooler. How 'bout those 7 new channels added yesterday?! ![]()

I'd definitely go for Sirius if they were still sponsoring Jimmy Spencer.
