I have been reading the threads regarding which is the best wax/polish. We have been told by various people (panel repair shop etc) that the best thing to use is a product called Mr Sheen. This product is a Furniture polish which is silicone based and has other solvents and polishing agents. I do not know if it is available in the USA but here in Australia it is widely used on furniture. What are you comments on using this type of product? We have a 76 450SL in excellent condition inside and out with 160000kms.

Do NOT use silicone based products on your paint. You will not help the "health" of the paint and may hurt it. Stick with Meguiar's, 3M, or a specialty line like Griot's Garage. I've tried em all and I use the Meguiar's professional line "Mirror Glaze" for most exterior applications. Meguiar's Gold Class is also very very good. 3M is almost as good but more elbow grease for less results. (even with an orbital buffer) For a clay bar I use ClayMagic with Meguiar's #34 Final inspection spray as the lubrication medium. For a finishing spray I use either #34 Final Inspection or Wax Shop's Slick Stuff. Interior I like Lexol's products. Save the MR Sheen for your furniture. Give the Meguiar's stuff a try, I'm pretty sure you will be favorably impressed.
Hope this helps...Lee |

Thankyou for that. It is pretty much what I thought.
