There was a sticker on the wood trim below the shifter on my new C240 Six Speed. It said something like "Depress clutch before starting Engine", Duh!!!

It was a very flaky sticker, but I managed to get it off in very small pieces with my fingernail over a period of time. I have managed to wipe most of the glue off with a dustcloth that I keep in the console.

Question is; what cleaner can I use to remove the rest of the glue without softening the plastic finish on the wood?

Thanks and have a great day,

Larry, I would stay away from anything like acetone and the like. I saw some label remover in the paint section at our local Home Depot. Something like that should do the trick.

No matter what you fix, there will always be something else to fix..
"Warranty" is just another way of postponing the inevitable.

Label remover

I used Goo Gone from Home Depot, works like a charm. Even takes off chewing gum I got on the carpet, I used it to remove similar labels on the wood dash.

Larry,

Which ever method you use, you might want to treat the wood afterwards for that added protection.

Use you favorite wax (Here we go again!) and apply a thin coat to all the wood, since your Baby is brand spanking new you should have no need to fill any scratchs yet like you would with a "swirl remover".

Hope this tip helps.

Ross
