Lime on the paint. How to get rid of?

I was parked in a parking garage for 2 days and have a lot of lime residue (along with some syrup like residue) on my windows and paint. It didn't come off in the car wash. The guy in the parking garage says to use 'Lime-a-Way.' This sounds pretty harsh to me. This stuff is used to clean your toilets. Is it fine to use on the paint? I need to get this stuff off, but I don't want to destroy the paint.
