Lime on the paint. How to get rid of?

I was parked in a parking garage for 2 days and have a lot of lime residue (along with some syrup like residue) on my windows and paint. It didn't come off in the car wash. The guy in the parking garage says to use 'Lime-a-Way.' This sounds pretty harsh to me. This stuff is used to clean your toilets. Is it fine to use on the paint? I need to get this stuff off, but I don't want to destroy the paint.

You could also buff the hood with 'Comet' to stop the sun shining in your eyes .

CLR is pretty good, although I think I'd wipe with gasoline and lite it ...wait till paint is warm...... wipe off softened lime deposits.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I just tried CLR diluted 1:1 with water (white vinegar didn't do anything). Put it on and let it soaked for a few minutes and scrubbed the crap out of it with a soft cloth. Well, it did come off. It unfortunately takes off all the wax as well. It's now dry, but I can still see marks where the lime was. Do you think it will come off with washing and waxing? Plan on doing that tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestion. To be honest, I'm not familiar with the paint cleaning clay. As I said, after getting the lime off with CLR, there were still streaks of where the lime was. I wash the car and used some polish and scratch cover to get the streaks out. Of course, I had to go over them 3 times to totally get rid of them, but at least they're gone. I'm going to look into this clay for the future. Thanks.

Not sure what the syrup stuff is? But the lime scale can be removed with a light paint polish/cleaner (like Zymol) or if really bad a swirl/scratch remover. I personally like 3M products, but to each their own.
