Hog Rings?
I'm preparing to replace the cushions in my seat and am trying to get my head around what all I need. Can't say as I really have a fix on the hog rings though. Do they come in different sizes? If so what size is required for my seats? (W116 300SD).
I've read that new rings can be purchased at a hardware store so I want to know what to ask for. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

I've never done any upholstry work, but I have bought hog rings at Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware and Home Depot in the fence section. They require a special crimper that's pretty cheap.

Kind of like a large staple I guess. I was hoping to discover what size I need for my seats so I can go ahead and get some.

I have seen small zip-ties used in place of the hogrings and looked just as nice.

I've seen that mentioned as a solution though I haven't seen it in practice. I guess I could just slip the ties through the old holes from the hog rings?

I got my hog ring pliers with 400 clips for $18.99 from JC Whitney. They worked great on the rear seats for my 1985 300td. Here is a link to a DIY with photos:
