Painted cluster surround

Finally got around to taking some pics, and I personally like it. However, still trying to decide if it looks like it belongs on a Honda or something similar. You know the type, 747 wing, fart can exhaust, etc.. Told John I was going to get a pic up probably 8 months ago, so I may be a little slow. Not sure how it would affect lighting, as this is from my 82, I just threw it in the hole for the 85. My car is silver, so that's why it became that color. I don't know what it would look like if it matched any exterior color.
Any thoughts?

Personally, I think the original looks the best, but it's YOUR car. Your opinion is what counts.

BTW, is it hard to get to that? I was wondering how one would get into the instrument cluster the other day.

Actually, when I took the cluster out the first time, it kind of fell apart. That's when I got the idea to paint it "while i was in there" Not sure how hard it would be to get the front cover off without breaking things.

That's what I was afraid of.
