Lexol? thoughts? and a question(s)....

Hey all, i just bought some Lexol cleaner and Lexol conditioner. The conditioner is awesome. It really softened the leather in my Infiniti. However, i'm not sure about this cleaner. They say on the back its the best you can buy, but i tried it on the my MB-tex and it really didnt clean it. Granted its plastic and the infiniti is real leather, but i've had better luck with some other products i've used. My question is, is the cleaner by Lexol really all that great? or are there betters out there?

For the question, I used some turtlewax or armor all on my infiniti's passanger seat, when i noticed it was literally taking the spider cracking, and chipping the leather off. Needless to say i stopped right then, but its looking like i will need to have that spot re-sprayed (getting tired of doing the eraser trick every time i clean it), anyone know of someone in the chicago-land area that does good work on leather repair

thanks

matt

I've been using the combination of Lexol cleaner and conditioner on my Lincoln for a while now. It's working pretty well for me.

Lexol has treated me well. I never use ArmorAll on anything! I have only heard negative results. I also don't like the high gloss it gives..

I use Lexol cleaner and conditioner and neatsfoot oil on my Bertone seats and am rather happy with it. Cost vs. effectiveness it is probably the best leather cleaner and conditioner I've used. But I wouldn't use a leather cleaner or conditioner on vinyl seats.

Lexol makes a product called Vinylex? for vinyl interiors (ie MB Tex). I haven't used it before but it has a good rep. We use Megiars Vinyl & Rubber conditioner on the MB Tex in the 240D and it works great. It doesn't quite reach the softness of leather, but its pretty good for vinyl.

Yea that lexol Conditioner is by far the best conditioner i have used. My seats in my Inifiniti are nice and soft and don't have that dumb high gloss finish. It has actually reversed some of the hardness effects that i had in the passenger seat.
Unfortunately i'm going to have to do some leather repair on the seat as it spider cracked and i'm a perfectionist when it comes down to it.

Do you think a woolite dilution (e.g. 10:1 or 8:1 water:woolite) would be better for cleaning?

For conditioner, you may want to try duragloss 201 (car parts stores). I use it in my new car with leather seats, very nice, and not too strong a smell.
