Oh no! Ripped the headliner W124. How to repair?

Oh crap. I was putting some windows in my car, and it ripped the headliner, in the passenger compartment. Is there any way to repair that without having to go through too much trouble? I want it done well, but don't want to rip out 12 pieces to do it.

Thanks,

Jeff 1991 300d

Hi Jeff-

We own an upholstery & restoration business and see this quite frequently. There really is no way to repair the tear and it to look well done.

I suggest that you go ahead & replace the lining.

Best of Luck

Headliner

I own an upholstery shop in New Jersey. Depending on the tear, and if its not perforated, I have a contact who could do a repair. 973-635-3443

I have looked at mine, which has seen better days, and wondered if there was some way to remonve the panels, cover them with some type of new material, and then reinstall them. Has anybody here ever tried that?

I'd be interested in knowing as well.

If I try it, I'll post the results here. I still have some 3M head liner spray adhesive. Maybe I'll give that a shot this Spring. I'm not too concerned with keeping everything original on my car.

Doesn't MB sell the headliner complete, covered and ready to install?
