Upgrade W123 visors?

Has anyone modified or upgraded their OE sun visors to something a bit more functional?

The visor is my coupe has a pronounced arc so it fits into the roofline nice and snug when stowed, but the arc curves the wrong way to actually fit up against the windshield when I have it flipped down. It's also really short and I'm not a wraparound sunglass guy, so the sun on the side gets annoying.

I was considering trying a retrofit of something like the visors from my Acura. They're cloth - so they could be covered to match, have a flexible corner so should be able to fit flush when extended and when stowed, and they have an extendible tongue to block the sun on the side.

Any BTDT with other solutions to crappy visors? I don't really care about the mirror and the lights - mine are falling apart anyway. I'd like to improve rather than just repair.

I feel your pain...

My last DD was a 2004 Passat sedan. most new cars have nice features to the visors like side extensions or the ability for the whole visor to telescope outward...

With the mirror plastic in tatters right now on mine, I'd love to find something better. But I doubt my dreams will manifest into a real solution.
