Aftermarket Seats

As the seats wear and tear, if it were to come time to replace the seats, with something more modern, What's my best bet in the aftermarket?

My intentions for the car change on an almost weekly basis, but it is very likely going to become a part time track car. So I'm thinking of a seat somewhere in between full on race and comfort...you know what I mean...

If you want something vintage looking check out GTS Seats, they have some cool period looking seats that are race-y.

Bringing it back

I want to re-hash this post hoping to get some more people to chime inn.

What is out there?? anyone have success finding an aftermarket seat that looks and feels good in a w123??

I'm in need of a drivers seat rehab for my coupe so i'm weighing the options.
I'm not terribly concerned with originality. Something that is the size and shape of the original but much more comfortable and upholstered in cloth would be ideal. I'm not opposed to totally overhaulin the original seat but, taken time and materials into consideration, i'd like to see some new seats ideas too.

I had some springs broken in my 93 W124 that I welded back together. You can also use a bit of steel tubing and JB Weld to repair the springs if you don't weld. As for the tears in my seat I bought a great set of covers that look better than the factory seats. Most people think they are recovered, yes they are that good. I have had them on mow for 3 years which I have driven 90K miles (copier service tech) so a lot of in and out. The driver seat is just starting to show some signs of wear. The covers were $200 but match my grey interior perfect. These are custom made for our Mercs.

Check out ebay...there are some great deals on used modern seats. Some old recaros or Corbeau seats that look 80's period correct.

IMO, shop around for Recaro, Corbeau, or Sparco seats.

Very light, and very safe.
